Díaz-Canel: “The passing of Commander of the Revolution, Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, is deeply painful, like the loss of a father”

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, expressed his profound sorrow on Sunday on his social media account for the passing of Commander of the Revolution, Ramiro Valdés Menéndez.
"The passing of Commander of the Revolution, Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, is deeply painful, like the loss of a father," the president wrote on the social network.
"That's how I always loved and respected him. This way I will remember his support and advice, his discreet collaboration and exemplary dedication to the service of the Homeland," he continued in his message.
For the Cuban President, "every act of Commander Ramiro's life was marked by his absolute fidelity to the leadership of #Fidel and #Raúl, to his fellow fighters and to the Moncada Program, whose just essence he defended from the assault on the fortress of the dictatorship in 1953 until the last breath of his exemplary life this Father's Day, which is clouded with the pain of his departure."
Always onward to victory, Commander! He concluded his message.
