A donation of ten generators for the electric generators of the Electric Union was delivered yesterday, on behalf of the Communist Party of China and the Government of the Asian giant, according to a report by Cuban Television. The devices are destined for the sites of the Geysel Company of Generating Groups and Electric Services.Mario Pedroso Caballero, general director of that entity, explained that the main breakdowns last year had to do with the generators, and affected about 64 megawatts. He added that the donation will minimize the breakdowns related to these components in the provinces of Sancti Spíritus and Cienfuegos, and will make it possible to contribute to the system some 18 megawatts, enough to supply some 40,000 homes.Pedroso Caballero affirmed that this technology is more robust and guarantees greater reliability in the load.At the donation ceremony, Jorge Luis Broche Lorenzo, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and head of its Economic-Productive Department, thanked the Chinese Party and Government, especially its President, Xi Jinping, for their support to continue promoting cooperation projects in the energy sector. He explained that 2023 and 2024 have been very difficult years for the generation of electricity, due to the marked deterioration of thermoelectric plants and the intensification of the blockade, which prevents the acquisition of spare parts and supplies for the maintenance and repair of the national power plants.  LHua Xin, ambassador of the People's Republic of China in the largest of the Antilles, said that this is a sign of the materialization of the agreements between the leaders of both nations.
