Out of that love for the Homeland that should always be an eternal resentment toward those who attack it, Cuban civil society presented the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, with all the forms from the "My signature for the Homeland" movement, containing more than 6.2 million signatures rejecting the blockade, the energy embargo, interference, and any threat of military aggression against Cuba.
The ceremony took place at the José Martí Memorial—commemorating the 131st anniversary of his death in combat—on a day of profound historical significance. Among those in attendance were members of the Political Bureau; Esteban Lazo Hernández, President of the National Assembly of People's Power and of the Council of State; Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister; Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee; as well as other leaders from the Party, the State, the Young Communist League, and mass and social organizations.
Díaz-Canel received documentary exhibits from each province from its representatives, thus reaffirming that dignity "is not implored, it is exercised; it is not begged for, it is defended; it is not negotiated, it is lived."
In the words of Ana María Mari Machado, Vice President of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), these signatures represent the collective conscience of a nation that opposes covert colonialism, exclusion lists, and "the attempt to govern us from abroad."
Furthermore, prior to the premiere of the eight-part series, El Misterio de un Hombre (The Mystery of a Man), directed by Roly and dedicated to our National Apostle, an allegorical poster of the film was presented to Díaz-Canel and the members of the Political Bureau who were present.
