During the meeting, Morales Ojeda extended a warm welcome to Liu Haixing and the members of the delegation, and conveyed the warm greetings of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the PCC and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, to the Chinese party leader and the other visitors.
He expressed his gratitude for the delegation's presence at the Colloquium as part of the central activities commemorating the centennial of the birth of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
He also highlighted the excellent state of relations between the two Communist Parties and their commitment to continue deepening political ties, as well as strengthening, through this relationship, economic and trade links between Cuba and China.

Morales Ojeda also emphasized the significance of the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China and the 90th anniversary of the Long March, events which, he noted, transcend the Asian nation due to their significance for Cuba and for countries building socialism and aspiring to a better world.
He explained that the visit comes at a time of extreme complexity for Cuba, marked by the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States, sanctions against Cuban entities and institutions and directors of various organizations, as well as the difficulties the country faces in the energy sector.
In that context, he expressed his gratitude for China's support of the Cuban people, government, and Communist Party, and emphasized that the Party leadership, together with the State and government, will continue working to overcome this complex situation, counting on the solidarity and friendship of sister nations.
For his part, Liu Haixing thanked the Communist Party of Cuba for the invitation and expressed his satisfaction at visiting the island for the first time.
The head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of his Party's leadership and also thanked Comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez for his greetings.
The visit reaffirms the excellent state of relations between the two Communist Parties, their special nature, and their shared interest in advancing the implementation of the agreements reached by the top leaders of Cuba and China, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Xi Jinping.
The Communist Party of Cuba also reiterated its historic and unwavering support for the One China principle and its opposition to attempts at external interference in the internal affairs of that sister nation.
As part of its program in Cuba, the delegation previously held a meeting with Emilio Lozada García, head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee.
Also present at the reception were other members of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Party, heads of Departments and Offices, and officials from the party structures of both nations.
