The “My Signature for the Homeland” movement, which has been spreading across the country since April 19, is more than an act of popular participation; it is a symbol of revolutionary reaffirmation, of condemnation of the economic suffocation that is the blockade, and of defense of sovereignty at whatever cost is necessary.
United by these principles, workers at the Palace of the Revolution joined the initiative this Thursday as an expression of the resolve of a people who will not negotiate their independence.
Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz led the event, accompanied by the Secretary of the Council of Ministers, Major General José Amado Ricardo Guerra—both members of the Political Bureau—as well as deputy prime ministers and other government officials.
In a setting of deep commitment, the Head of Government and those present ratified, with their signatures, their support for the call made by the First Secretary of the Party’s Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, who, at the ceremony marking the 65th anniversary of the declaration of the socialist nature of the Revolution, called for bringing the truth about Cuba to every corner of the planet.
The “My Signature for the Homeland” movement has called on the people to defend Cuba’s right to self-determination, free from pressure or blockades, and reaffirms national unity in the face of any attempt at interference or aggression against the largest of the Antilles.
From the Palace of the Revolution itself, the setting for memorable moments in our history, workers sent a message of support for the nation’s founding principles and of rejection of any destabilizing measures, in a context marked by the intensification of sanctions, particularly the energy blockade and disinformation campaigns.
It was reaffirmed that each signature represents the voice of a nation that reaffirms its commitment to defending peace, promoting dialogue and international solidarity, and safeguarding independence.
