The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, participated this Wednesday morning in the event held at the headquarters of the party organization to support the "My signature for the Homeland" movement, which has become a call to every Cuban, in the face of the imperial threat, to support the Revolution and sovereignty.
Officials and workers from the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Party signed this initiative, which is already circulating throughout the nation. As the Head of State expressed on April 16th at the event commemorating the 65th anniversary of the proclamation of the socialist character of the Revolution, it must become a national and international solidarity movement that brings to every corner of the planet the truth about Cuba, the suffering of the people due to the blockade and the multidimensional economic war, aggravated by the energy embargo, which he describes as genocide due to the extreme levels of deprivation to which all Cubans are subjected.
This event—in which Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, also participated—is one of several taking place in workplaces, communities, and institutions, following the signing on April 19th at Bay of Pigs by the First Secretary and members of the Revolution's leadership. This signing reaffirmed the unwavering commitment to peace that is the essence of the Cuban nation, forged in the deepest conviction that defending ourselves is not only a right; it is, as enshrined in the Constitution, the greatest honor and supreme duty of every Cuban.
