After three days in which projects, experiences and communicative strategies were articulated in order to, from a critical thinking, emancipate the peoples by means of an effective political communication, the 4th International Colloquium Patria concluded yesterday in Havana.
At the closing ceremony, attended by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization, Roberto Morales Ojeda, the distinction Ciudadano Telesur was awarded for the first time to the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, as well as to the Head of State and President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, for symbolizing the living trench of Latin America.
In Patria - which gathered more than 400 participants from around 50 countries - a commitment was made to build a permanent working Network of the South, in order to continue confronting the cognitive warfare, disinformation campaigns, media manipulation and psychological warfare promoted by imperialist actors.
According to Rosa Miriam Elizalde, general coordinator of the meeting, Patria recognized that, although technology has served for domination and exploitation, it also has a profoundly emancipating potential when it is reorganized under principles of social justice and popular sovereignty.
For this reason, he added, the Colloquium is not over yet, the collaborative projects that have been conceived in this edition must become a reality, to continue strengthening the networks of resistance and consolidate communication at the service of the peoples.
