Traditional solidarity between two brotherly peoples

At the National Capitol, the General Secretary of the Communist Party and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, comrade To Lam, was received by the member of the Political Bureau and President of the National Assembly of People's Power, Esteban Lazo Hernández, who expressed that "on behalf of the deputies, we are very pleased to receive you, dear friend of Cuba."

The also President of the Council of State highlighted the historic and special bonds of brotherhood that unite Cuba and Vietnam, unbreakable ties forged by Fidel and Ho Chi Minh. "Our peoples and main leaders have built an exemplary relationship, symbol of our times, of deep solidarity and unity," he meant.He informed the distinguished visitor about the successful celebration, in Havana, last September 24, of the First Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, which he described as an excellent and frank debate, "in which we addressed, with full confidence, the role of Parliaments in promoting bilateral cooperation programs between our countries."

Lazo also delved into the current situation of the country, characterized by the tightening of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government against Cuba. In this regard, he thanked Vietnam for its unchanging position in the face of this unjust U.S. policy, and for the many expressions of solidarity during all these years. He also ratified the solidarity with the brotherly Vietnamese people in the face of the effects caused by Typhoon Yagi."With this State visit, we ratify the traditional solidarity of the Party, State, Government and people of Vietnam," said To Lam, who thanked for the messages of condolences sent to the death of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong; as well as for the participation of a high-level delegation, headed by Esteban Lazo, in the State funeral in Hanoi.
