SANTIAGO DE CUBA.— The National Hero of Cuba, José Martí, whose doctrines moved the expeditionaries of the Granma yacht, especially Fidel -their undisputed leader-, was the homage of the uniformed people this December 2, Day of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), in the patrimonial cemetery of Santa Ifigenia.
Floral offerings were sent by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution and one of the 82 expeditionaries who landed near Las Coloradas; Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic; Esteban Lazo Hernández, member of the Political Bureau and president of the National Assembly, and one on behalf of the Cuban people.
There were also flowers in front of the monolith that treasures the ashes of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, and tokens of affection from chiefs, officers and soldiers of the FAR, representatives of various sectors of society and the heartfelt message that Díaz-Canel posted on the social network X: "To Army General Raúl Castro, to the Commanders of the Revolution, to the founding combatants and the younger ones: congratulations on the Day of the FARs, force of the people and for the people, from the seed planted in the Sierra to these difficult days."
The commemoration was presided over by Yudith Leyva Herrera, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee, and political and government authorities of the untamed province, who also placed roses on the funeral monuments of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and Mariana Grajales Cuello, Father and Mother of the Homeland, respectively.
