Due to the extraordinary impact of the investment, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, arrived at the construction site of the photovoltaic solar park La Sabana, on the outskirts of this city, designed on 25 hectares to generate a little more than 21 megawatts, once synchronized to the National Electric System, on April 19, 2025.On the field, the President inquired about the progress of the civil execution schedule, at 75% of overall execution, a project that is becoming a reality with the organization of 14 brigades that group more than 300 workers. The civil works began to be executed in November 2023. The technological installation shows a slight delay in relation to the schedule, due to the incidence of the recent rains, although they can be recovered quickly, according to what was expressed by the director of Electric Company of Granma Geider Mompié Rodríguez.More than a hundred people work in the sun, in long days that exceed ten hours a day, in an installation that uses modular technology and should contribute a lot to the province, to reduce the annoying blackouts during the daytime.During his tour of the work area, the President spoke about the technological specificities during assembly, the quality of the technology and the salary of the workers and the attention to man.The photovoltaic solar parks, in addition to increasing electricity generation through renewable energy sources, will have an impact on saving fossil fuels and will contribute to greater environmental conservation.The La Sabana park, once completed and synchronized to the National Electric System, is expected to deliver 37.5 gigawatt hours annually, to avoid fuel imports for US$5.5 million. The President ratified that these investments are among those with the greatest impact that the country is currently promoting, and called on workers to continue working with the responsibility demonstrated so far, as they are making a great contribution to the future of the country.On Thursday, Díaz-Canel began his tour of the UEB Incobay, belonging to the Fishing Enterprise in Granma, a collective that has several facilities that close a productive cycle by processing aquaculture products from all over the province, including tench, tilapia and claria, which they turn into truncho, minced fish and fish fillet.During the visit, the President appreciated the production of sausages, hamburgers, croquettes and mortadella. The industry serves the social consumption of the province, including more than 3,000 patients on medical diets, as well as hospitals and large educational centers.Alexis Avila Viltres, director of the UEB, in dialogue with the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, referred that they are in better conditions to maintain the sustainability of these items, conditioned by a favorable situation with the sowing of fry.The community located in the Latinoamericano neighborhood, of the 112th district, was another point on the agenda of the Head of State, accompanied by Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, and by the highest authorities of the Party and the Government in the territory.The young delegate Carlos Arbey González Arias explained the particularities of his community of more than 5,000 people, with a positive experience, since vulnerabilities have been identified in a group of families and homes, and also work is being done to link a group of young people to study or work, as well as support for mothers with three or more children, as part of the social care programs.In his exchange with the people, President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez reflected on the role of the delegate, the progress of the accountability process, the necessary control and the popular participation of the community in the tasks of neighborhood transformation.The tour of the municipality of Bayamo is part of the Cuban President's work system, to exchange directly with labor collectives, and to follow up on possible solutions to problems raised during previous visits.
