The only way to achieve peace

For several decades, the United States and Israel have set out to establish a matrix against Iran, using the Persian nation's nuclear development as a pretext.The power of the Western media, plus the dominance by the different U.S. governments of almost all international organizations, have been the banners to make Tehran surrender.At the same time, economic and other sanctions have led the country to develop national initiative, both military and economic.But the war against Iran has not ceased, rather it has been taken to a level that only leads to conflict. Israel even insists on its destruction.In all this context, the Islamic Republic of Iran, whether the Zionist Israeli government likes it or not, has made peace its most sacred and longed-for objective, and to achieve it it has extended and strengthened its ties with Arab countries, as well as with Russia, China and others.The present moment shows a Zionist government, encouraged by a guardian like the United States, which beats palms for the assassinations of Palestinian, Lebanese and Iranian leaders, and which massacres, in the most cruel manner, an entire population in Gaza, where more than 20,000 children have been exterminated, half of all those killed by Israeli bombs and rockets in that area.In a strong statement on Wednesday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said: "We are not looking for war, it is Israel that is forcing us to react."The Persian leader was referring to the launching of hundreds of Iranian missiles against Tel Aviv's military and intelligence targets.The escalation of confrontation is today greater and more dangerous than ever. The price of oil -a major international concern- has skyrocketed, and even the Israeli Prime Minister has declared UN Secretary General António Guterres "persona non grata."Russia, meanwhile, has warned that "the Middle East is sliding into the abyss of a new great war." The maxim that peace can only be achieved by avoiding war holds true.The international community and the organizations created for this purpose have a great responsibility to act urgently. Only then will there be peace.
