The National Electric System (SEN) was reestablished, from Pinar del Río to Guantánamo, informed The Electric Union, thanks to the unstinting effort and dedication of the workers of this sector. The authorities clarified that, even when the recovery was achieved, this did not mean that all the circuits in the country were energized.
At the time of writing this note, the Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric power plant (CTE) had synchronized and was increasing its load to 120 megawatts. Then, if there is no inconvenience, it should increase the power to 200 megawatts, said the director of that unit, engineer Rubén Campos Olmo.
Likewise, it had synchronized unit 8 of CTE Máximo Gómez, in Mariel, which was also generating in a stable manner.
Engineer Lázaro Guerra Hernández, Director of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, explained that other units were in the process of starting up and with the prospect of synchronizing during the day.
He stated that, if all the units were incorporated, it would be probable that the load would have been closed in the early hours of last morning.
At yesterday's peak demand hour, the availability of generation served was more than 1,500 mw.
WHAT WAS THE PROTOCOL AFTER THE DISCONNECTION?
According to the reports received from the different territories, on the night of Friday 14, microsystems began to be created in all the territories, which allowed supplying the prioritized infrastructures.
These microsystems energized the large generating units to achieve stability in each territory, and were gradually incorporated.
In the case of the western region, it was not possible to maintain the microsystem created, which collapsed on Saturday due to a breakdown in the Energás Varadero-Matanzas line. Limitations were also faced with the activation of Energás Boca de Jaruco, a key piece to bring energy to the Mariel power plant.
The authorities emphasized that during the reestablishment process, the work of the workers of the Cuba-Petroleum Union was vital to take the fuel to the distributed generation plants, essential in this reconnection step.
