The electronic tourist visa will be mandatory for entry to Cuba from the end of June
As of June 30 of this year, all travelers entering Cuban territory as tourists must do so with the electronic visa issued from the evisacuba.cu portal.
Gihana Galindo Enriquez, commercial director of the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (Mintur), told reporters that both modalities are in force: the physical tourist card and the electronic one with Evisa.
The latter offers greater security and efficiency in all stages of the tourist visa process and, according to the director, its process is more convenient for travelers.
With its implementation, the Foreign Ministry pointed out, Cuba is moving towards a more modern consular system adapted to current needs.
Galindo Enriquez pointed out that the website must be accessed within 72 hours of entering the national territory, and the client receives a ten-character code, which is then entered into the DViajeros platform, a digital form for entry into Cuba, generating a QR code to be presented to the immigration authority.
In the case of Dviajeros, Galindo Enríquez said that, as a novelty, it can be completed within seven days prior to the trip.
