Popular participation is key in the correction of distortions and in the revitalization of the economy

Since the last session of this body, held last September 16, the work system has been maintained with constant monitoring of compliance with the schedule of the implementation process of the Government's measures to correct distortions and boost the economy, informed the member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, during the session of the Council of State held on Wednesday.Headed by the president of this body, Esteban Lazo Hernández, and with the participation, at the National Capitol, of the First Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, at the meeting, Marrero Cruz reported on the continuity of the actions for the reimpulse of the national economy.In the fruitful debate, the Cuban President stressed that in the tours carried out in the different territories, good experiences in local production have been noted, as well as productive chains and solutions to specific problems in the localities, which should be generalized.  The member of the Political Bureau, Esteban Lazo, pointed out that it is essential to continue advancing in the control of the implementation of the projections and in the popular participation in this transcendental process, in order to promote from the base the fulfillment of the proposed tasks.  During this session, the Council of State examined the fulfillment of the Budget Law and the approved tax and fiscal measures; approved the "Modification of Decree-Law No. 7 "On the Science, Technology and Innovation System", and issued the Decree-Law "On the Commemorative Medal for the 70th Anniversary of the Revolutionary Armed Forces."It also evaluated the status of compliance with the measures derived from the accountability exercise of the Ministry of Industries to the National Assembly of People's Power; and the report on compliance with the mandates set forth in the decree-laws issued by the Council of State in the year 2023 was presented; and the agreements adopted by this body in its previous meetings were checked.
