Whoever alleges that Camilo Cienfuegos disappeared that October 28, 1959, does not know about Cuba; nor that they are perennial heroes those who stand up for the people and are so human, so Cuban, that they never die.Every year, the boy from Lawton is remembered. He has become an educator, an athlete, a scientist...; he has tilled the soil, and he still multiplies in many people.For Camilo, the man of a thousand anecdotes, the Lord of the Vanguard...; to honor him there is an entire people: pioneers, teenagers, young people, workers, converted -as Fidel expressed- into many Camilos, marched yesterday through the streets of the entire nation, flower in hand, as a sincere tribute, to some mirror of water.Sixty-five years after his physical disappearance, the central act in the esplanade of the Plaza de la Revolución was led by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic; and precisely there, the words of the man with the winged hat were remembered, when he sentenced that the enemies of the Revolution should never think that Cuba will stop.As a symbol of the youth vanguard, Meyvis Estévez Echavarría, first secretary of the National Committee of the Union of Young Communists, expressed that "the way in which Camilo knew how to face the challenges is the one that should characterize us today, and it is the one that beats in so many young people who now fill us with pride in hundreds of places of the country, where the effort they make to recover from the energy contingency and the damages caused by hurricane Oscar is definitive".The people of the capital were also accompanied in the pilgrimage by Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Party; as well as other leaders of the Party, the Government, political and mass organizations, the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior.Flowers to Camilo Cienfuegos
