


The first Russian-made vehicle assembled in Cuba, the result of an agreement signed in 2024 between Cuba's Empresa Integral de Servicios Automotores (EISA) and the Russian firm echo-Export srl, was recently presented in the presence of the vice president of the Russian government, Dmitry Chernyshenko.
According to ACN, it was a milestone that marks the strengthening of industrial ties between the two countries.
The new UAZ model is the result of the agreement signed in Havana at the Cubaindustria 2024 Convention.
The contract establishes, in its first phase, the production of the Patriot and Pickup models, while the second phase will include the assembly of light-duty vehicles of the Profi line.
An RT report also highlights that among the joint projects of Moscow and Cuba is the launching of Moskvich brand car cabs, according to the mayor of the Russian capital, Sergey Sobyanin.
He adds that they plan to provide the country with a batch of 50 vehicles, to reinforce the cab fleet in Havana and Varadero.
