The First Secretary of the Party’s Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent a message of congratulations on Thursday to the members of the State Security Forces, on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the founding of that institution.
“I embrace our brave fighters of the State Security Organs, to whom we owe so much, for their defense of the homeland, almost always anonymous and risky,” he posted on his X social media account.
He dedicated the greeting “to the founders, leaders, officers, women, and men whose heroic missions are part of the epic legend of the Cuban Revolution.”
On behalf of the Cuban government and in his own name, Political Bureau member and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz also extended his congratulations in a letter, in which he recognized the fighters “for their patriotism, bravery, dedication, sacrifice, and devotion” to fulfilling a mission he described as honorable.
He praised how, in the face of current dangers, “the men and women of the State Security Organs courageously and with commitment defend the legacy of the Commander-in-Chief in the year of his centennial,” and emphasized that the teachings of the leader at the helm of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, live on in their exemplary conduct as combatants and human beings, always standing with the people.
