Malabo, Republic of Equatorial Guinea.— In order to continue strengthening the close ties of brotherhood and cooperation that unite the peoples, the member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, arrived yesterday on an official visit to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, with which diplomatic relations were established more than half a century ago.
At Malabo's international airport, the Head of Government was received by his counterpart, Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua, to whom he expressed the pleasure of visiting, for the first time, this nation, to which "many historical issues unite us," and recalled the commitment that Cuba has always had with Africa, "a continent that our Commander in Chief taught us to love very much."
He added that, in the midst of the limitations of the largest of the Antilles, "we have always tried to contribute our grain of sand for the development of the countries, and here we have done it with a strong collaboration in Public Health and Education. We have always been willing to support in every possible way."
Nsue Nsua said he was "delighted to receive him and his delegation," because "Cuba is always supporting us, and his visit will surely strengthen our cooperation."
Marrero Cruz will hold meetings with the highest authorities of the country, and will exchange with Cuban collaborators and friends of solidarity, among other activities.
