The member of the Political Bureau and Foreign Minister of Cuba, reiterated today the condemnation of Israel's extermination against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

In X, the head of Cuban diplomacy denounced Israeli plans to usurp territory in the city of Rafah, which would interfere with the entry of humanitarian aid.

"Israel insists on its extermination of the Palestinian people in Gaza, where it has murdered 50,810 people. While bombing and destroying basic civilian infrastructure on a daily basis, it plans to usurp territory in the city of Rafah, which would further aggravate the entry of humanitarian aid," the Foreign Minister stated.

According to local media, 23 people were killed early Wednesday morning in an Israeli bombardment of a residential building in the Shujaiy neighborhood of Gaza City.

After a two-month truce, Israel resumed its bombardment and then its ground offensive on March 18.

The Strip's Health Ministry announced Wednesday that 1,482 people have died since March 18.

Israeli plans are to destroy the city of Rafah, a town of 200,000 people, which would partially disconnect the Strip from its 12-kilometer border with Egypt.

The loss of Rafah would affect the humanitarian corridor of the same name, some 14 kilometers long.

Since October 7, 2023, the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli attacks has risen to 50,846, mostly women and children.
