Creating political communication in the Global South from an emancipatory perspective

In order to reflect on the challenges and opportunities of political communication in the digital era, from an emancipatory perspective; as well as to counteract, with the unity of the Global South, the hegemonic and media war against dignified peoples, the Fourth International Colloquium Patria begins today, with headquarters at the University of Havana.
Until March 19, the event will bring together experts, activists and managers of different media from more than 60 countries. And under the maxim “we are people weaving networks”, the influence of digital platforms on political participation and the configuration of powers will be analyzed, in addition to generating proposals for an ethical and liberating use of technology.
Among the proposals of the meeting are keynote lectures, panels on counter-hegemonic communication, presentations of communication projects, workshops, and an immersive room.
In a context in which digital technologies are redefining the exercise of power, this colloquium becomes a space for critical thinking, which coordinates actions from a progressive and solidary point of view.
