Communist Parties of Cuba and Germany reinforce their work and cooperation ties
For the fourth time the President of the German Communist Party (DKP), Patrik Köbele visited Cuba and, as part of his agenda, was received by the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization, Roberto Morales Ojeda, at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC).Both leaders expressed their satisfaction for the meeting, which Morales Ojeda took advantage of to thank the solidarity of the DKP with the people, the Party and the Cuban Revolution. He also conveyed an affectionate greeting from the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.Meanwhile, Köbele praised Cuba's struggle against the U.S. blockade, which he described as anti-imperialist. "We German communists thank you for that", he assured, and then expressed that there is an indestructible solidarity between both Parties.After the exchange, the political leaders signed an Agreement of Exchange and Cooperation between said forces in areas of mutual interest such as political, ideological and cadre training, as well as the work in social networks and the exchange between social and mass organizations, with emphasis on youth, trade union and women's organizations.Offering statements to the press, the DKP president evidenced his confidence in the intensification of relations between the Parties. "This is a collaboration that dates back many years, and it is collaboration, above all, in the struggle against imperialist forces, which should serve the progress of the world," he emphasized.On the German side also participated the member of the Central Committee and the International Department of the DKP, Petra Wegner; Morales Ojeda was accompanied by the member of the Central Committee of the PCC and head of its International Relations Department, Emilio Lozada Garcia, and other officials.During their stay in Cuba, the DKP delegation will hold important working meetings and visit places of historical, scientific and cultural interest.
