China Accuses Sweden Of Violating Human Rights Over ‘Brutal’ Hotel Eviction

An apparent mix-up over check-in time between a group of Chinese tourists visiting a Stockholm hostel escalated into a diplomatic row between China and Sweden on Monday, according to CNN. China accused Sweden of violating the visitors’ human rights after the family arrived at around 2 a.m. local time to check-in, but their reservation was actually made for the next night. After the family was informed their room was unavailable, they tried to sleep in the lobby. When the staff told them they could not remain in the lobby until the next day, the man who was traveling with his parents began yelling that his parents were ill.
