"We were in the places where Fidel, Raúl, Camilo, Che, Ramiro, Almeida, Guillermo, Celia, Vilma and an infinite list of heroes and heroines walked. We renew our commitment to them and to the Revolution they made." This was one of the impressions that the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, expressed in La Plata.
He went up there, in the company of 65 young people from all over the country, of whom he said, in his account in X, that the ascent filled with joy, for their enthusiasm and commitment.
Surrounded by the beauty and symbolism of the historic landscape, Diaz-Canel said that "the history that keeps the land on which we walked is as fascinating as the mountains that surround it."
The Head of State was accompanied by the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization, Roberto Morales Ojeda, and by Meyvis Estévez Echevarría, first secretary of the Young Communist League.
"With Fidel on the heights," this is how the young people baptized the historical route undertaken at the beginning of the year, and who, by seeking the mountain trails on Monday, were following in the footsteps of Fidel, who 65 years ago walked the same place -from January 1 to 9-, accompanied by 390 young people of the University Student Brigades.
