Today, the National Electric System should be reestablished throughout the country, with a similar condition to before the collapse, in terms of affectations, assured Vicente de la O Levy, head of Energy and Mines (Minem), in the check with the Presidency of the Republic.According to Lázaro Guerra Hernández, director of Electricity of the Minem, several of the thermoelectric power plants and the micro-systems created in the three regions of the country are about to start up. He also informed that, from the province of Artemisa to Camagüey, the microsystems were linked.Guerra Hernández clarified that a slow and gradual process is being carried out to avoid a setback in the management.Regarding the distribution of fuels, Irenaldo Pérez Cardoso, deputy director of the Cuba-Petroleum Union, said that the supply to hospitals and other prioritized services has been guaranteed, so that basic services do not fail, as well as to distributed generation sites, to achieve black starts (when there is no energy).Regarding liquefied petroleum gas, he said that the ship, as planned, moved to the port of Matanzas, and then continued to Nuevitas and returned to Santiago and Havana.Regarding the availability of fuel for airplanes, he clarified that the supply is assured, thanks to the arrival of a ship at the Ñico López refinery, which will then be transferred to Matanzas.He pointed out that, with this lot, the whole month of December and the beginning of January will be covered, and a window is already under negotiation to provide continuity to the supply.
